O vid, Conley, Recommendations

10th June 2018

I am very pleased to announce that we have a new ABC Tour video. Here is O is for Origami:

I love how this video came out. Great editing by Courtney Prokopas. Thanks to Courtney and Anton Mackman for helping out on this day, and a big thanks to the British Origami Society for making this show possible.

I have recently been on the road with Brian Conley as his support act. Well, to be more honest, I have been the replacement act for his support act. Mat Ricardo, the incredibly dapper and talented juggler, is Mr Conley’s usual support act. I sit on the bench and wait for the gigs that Mat can’t do. To be honest, I am very happy with the bench position. It is always such a thrill to be on tour with Brian (this is my 3rd year now), and it’s such a privelidge to perform in such stunning venues.

I wish Mat Ricardo lots of success next time that Brian is touring, this way hopefully Mat will get better gigs, and I will spend less time on the bench and more on the stage! Check out Mat Ricardo’s new show in Edinburgh this year if you can. It is a great concept. https://www.matricardo.com/tour/

Bristol Comedy Gardens is a great festival every year in Bristol where they get some fantastic names in comedy to do a bunch of shows. I love it, but I am usually working around this time. Lucky enough, this year I managed to squeeze in one show. But flipping heck tucker, what a show! The line up was Zoe Lyons, Joe Wilkinson and Alan Davies, hosted by Kiri Pritchard-McLean. Such a solid show. Every act was so tight and hilarious. Really great night. If you have the chance to see any of these people perform live, do not miss it!

Finally, a few recommendations. The Horne Section. This is a show by Alex Horne and the Horne Section, and it is a live show filmed at the London Palladium. You can watch it online at https://uktvplay.uktv.co.uk/. I have always loved Alex Horne and the Horne Section. There are too many marvellously ridiculous parts in this to mention, but my highlights are Agnoc, seasons, and the last song. Oh and Joe Wilkinson's gag (you’ll know which one!). Watch it.

My last recommendation is Steve Martin and Martin Short - An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life. This show is on Netflix. If you don’t have Netflix, getting Netflix just to watch this show is a good idea. This show is an example of pure show business, comedy genius and showmanship. I loved every second.

Right, that’s all from me.

Cheerio!

Testimonials

"Jon was a resounding favourite of the night with the audience. He has a natural comedic flair, rocking the audience with laughter with his ad libbing alone, and is an excellent, highly skilled juggler to boot. I recommend him to you unreservedly."

Sarah Shanson, Organiser of The Shaftesbury Tavern Cabaret.
